The ageless arch, used here is a powerful design element, not only accentuates the role of the building as the seat of local government but also shows a seductive yet familiar form that echoes the surrounding area’s awe-inspiring colonial heritage.
Framed by the church and the cuartel, the master plan aims to create a visual corridor that is also a heritage park, rebuilding a central open space that bears an important classical role for a town like Oslob. The plaza, as a symbol of the community’s identity and serve the town’s “living room,” is where people gather for special events and mingle in everyday social interaction. By doing so, the design team has also managed to position the municipal hall as a prime building, with a commanding presence while immersed in rich heritage.
